NATIONAL ACTION PLAN FOR ERADICATION
OF SCAVENGING
RAJYA SABHA
The Planning Commission
has proposed a Draft ‘National Action Plan for Total Eradication
of Manual Scavenging by 2007’ after holding detailed discussions
with the concerned Ministries/Departments. The Draft National
Action Plan aims at amalgamation of different schemes and speed
up liberation and rehabilitation of manual scavengers. It is in
advanced stage of finalization.
