‘NO OPERATION CODE NAMED BLACK SEA LAUNCHED’: PM

PM REPLIES TO AJIT JOGI’S LETTER

The Prime Minister, Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee has today replied to a letter written by Chief Minister of Chhatisgarh, Shri Ajit Jogi. Shri Jogi had written to the Prime Minister yesterday.

Following is the text of the letter written by the Prime Minister to Shri Jogi:

"I am informed by the Director of Intelligence Bureau that there is no Special Directorate in the Intelligence Bureau and that it has not launched an operation code named Black Sea, as mentioned in your letter. The document enclosed with your letter is obviously forged. It follows that the allegations you have made against my governments are false.

In the circumstances, I have asked the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to go into this case of forgery and take appropriate action against the person or persons connected with the forgery. I am sure that given the high constitutional office you hold, you will readily and fully cooperate with the CBI.

It is hardly necessary for me to write that your insinuations and allegations, particularly, against the Ministry of Home Affairs, are baseless and politically motivated.

Since you have published your letter and its enclosure, I am releasing this reply to the media.
