The Prime Minister, Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee has greeted the people on the joyous occasions of Ugadi, Chaitra Sukladi, Gudi Padava and Cheti Chand, here today.

In a message, the Prime Minister said that these festivals mark the beginning of New Year according to the traditional Indian calendar. It is the time when spring adds colour to nature and a rich harvest signifies prosperity and happiness. Let the spirit of joy and happiness signified by these festivals pervade the heart of every Indian to bring peace, harmony and prosperity to the nation, the Prime Minister added.
