NCC DELEGATION LEAVES FOR VIETNAM
A 22 members National
Cadet Corps (NCC) delegation is leaving for Vietnam tomorrow.
The delegation consists of two officers and twenty cadets including
13 girls and 07 boys from the different parts of the country.
The delegation will remain in Vietnam upto September 22, 2002.
During their stay in Vietnam, members of the NCC delegation will
participate in community development programmes interact with
their counterpart youth organizations, stay with local families
and visit Defence Establishments, places of topical and tourist
interest.
With a view to
increasing international understanding and heighten awareness,
the NCC has Youth Exchange Programmes with Youth Organisations/NCC
of friendly foreign countries. Youth Exchange Programme between
India and Vietnam started last year when first ever Vietnamese
Delegation visited India in January 2001 and participated in the
Republic Day Camp.
The members
of the delegation called on Lt. Gen BK Boponna, Director General
NCC here today. Gen Bopanna offered then his best wishes and exhorted
them to bring glory to the country as young ambassadors of India.
