Government has approved a
comprehensive medical scheme for ex-servicemen and their families.
The scheme is being conducted by the Government comprising a one
time capital expenditure of Rs 129 crore. There will be provision
for a recurring annual budget of Rs 352.75 crore under the scheme.
The scheme covers 227 stations
by having 123 Poly clinics and 104 Augmented Medical Inspection
Rooms / Military Hospitals. The scheme will reach out to the remotest
areas. All the ex-servicemen will be attached to one or the other
Polyclinic or Augmented Medical Inspection Room. This has been
done to meet a long outstanding demand for a medi-care scheme
for ex-servicemen.
