FUNDS RELEASED TO MAHARASHTRA UNDER INDIRA AWAAS YOJANA

The Ministry of Rural Development has released Rs.72.05 lakh to the State Government of Maharashtra for construction of houses under Indira Awaas Yojana (IAY). The amount will be utilized for construction of new houses/upgradation of kutcha houses into pucca houses under IAY in Beed district of the State. This is the first instalment of Central share for the implementation of the Yojana for the year 2002-03.

The expenditure on the implementation of the programme is to be shared on 75:25 basis between the Centre and the State respectively. The State Government should release its share within a month of the date of release of the Central assistance. The State Government has been advised to submit the proposal for release of next instalment after utilizing 60% of the available resources with the district.
