AIR ORGANISES ‘AKASHVANI
SANGEET SAMMELAN-2002’
All India Radio (AIR)
will organise Akashvani Sangeet Sammelan concerts on 19th
October, 2002 at 17 different cities throughout the country. The
concerts organized by Director General, AIR, will feature eminent
Hindustani and Karnatic music artists. One concert of classical
music will be held in Delhi on 19th October, 2002 featuring
violin recital by A. Kanyakumari, Tabla Solo by Pandit Kishan
Maharaj and vocal recital by Pandit Jagdish Prasad.
The other places
where the concerts will be held are Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata,
Jalandhar, Ahmedabad, Bhubaneswar, Guwahati, Patna, Pondicherry,
Port Blair, Agra, Allahabad, Ernakulam, Mangalore, Tirupathi and
Visakhapatnam.
The recordings
of Sangeet Sammelan concerts will be broadcast on national hook-up
from 16th November, 2002 to 22nd December,
2002 (except December 3, 2002) from 10.00 p.m. to 11.00 p.m. daily.
