Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology, Surat, Gujarat (formerly
known as Sardar Vallabhbhai Regional College of Engineering and
Technology (REC, Surat) has been declared as 'Deemed to be University'.
This status is granted
in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 3 of the University
Grant Commission Act 1956 (3 of 1956) and is with immediate effect.
