AERO INDIA 2003
The fourth International
Aerospace Exposition-Aero India 2003 will be held at Bangalore
from Feb 05 to 09 next year. This exposition is sponsored by Government
of India and is being organised by the Department of Defence Production
& Supplies, Ministry of Defence in close cooperation with
the Defence Research and Development Organisation, the Indian
Air Force and the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Department of
Space.
Ministry of Defence
has decided to invite about 45 delegations to Aero India 2003
from abroad. The delegations from the Asia Pacific Region, the
Middle East, the Americas and Europe will form a major feature
of the event. Reputed companies from UK, USA, Israel, France,
Netherlands, Russia, Poland, Italy, Brazil, Belgium Czech Republic,
South Africa & Ukraine Republic have already confirmed their
participation. Participation from some other countries is also
expected. Response from Indian companies is also very encouraging.
Participation by Defence units and other private companies specialized
in the field of Aeronautics has already been confirmed.
One of the major
components of the show will be the international seminar on ‘Aerospace
Technologies: Development and Strategies’- which will focus on
problems in all areas of military and civil aviation in today’s
world. The three day seminar will be inaugurated by the Defence
Minister Shri George Fernandes on February 06, 2002. The seminar
is being organised by the Defence Research and Development Organisation
of the Ministry of Defence. A large number of eminent scientists
from India and abroad have been invited to take part in the Seminar.
To commemorate the 100th Anniversary Year of Man’s
First Flight, two plenary sessions, one on World Aviation and
another Indian Aviation are also proposed to be scheduled on Feb
07 and Feb 08, 2003 during the seminar.
The Aerospace
exposition has been specifically designed to profile the entire
spectrum of aeronautical industry and will have on display military
and civil aircraft, weapon systems, instrument landing systems,
airport equipment, communication systems, as well as equipment
relevant for the space industry. Besides the exhibition, there
will be a daily flying display featuring some of the most advanced
and sophisticated aircraft. The connected facilities/amenities
are also being upgraded to fully conform to international standards.
Seventeen foreign
countries participated in the third Aero India exhibition held
in 2001. High level delegations of the level of Ministers of Defence/Air
Chiefs from 36 countries also participated. In anticipation of
a larger participation in the forthcoming show and in order to
meet the increasing demand, an additional Hall–D has been added
to the exhibition area this year. The new Hall will provide 1824
sqm of additional indoor floor space.
