Lt Gen AMIYA KUMAR
LAHIRI took over as Director General Medical Services at Army
Headquarters.
Lt Gen A K Lahiri
was commissioned in the Army Medical Corps after completing his
MBBS from Medical College Kolkata in the year 1964. Later he completed
his DCP from AFMC Pune in the year 1970 and MD (Path and Bact)
from Nagpur Medical College in the year 1976.
During his thirty
eight years tenure in Army the General has held a variety of Staff,
Command and Instructional appointments that include Command of
a Field Ambulance in Arunachal Pradesh and Commandant of Eastern
Command Hospital Kolkata. He has been Professor and Head of Department,
Department of BTD and Immunohaemotology, AFMC Pune.
Before taking
over as Director General Medical Services he was Director General
Health Services (Armed Forces) at New Delhi.

is decorated with Vishisht Seva Medal.
