FOODGRAINS TO RAJASTHAN
Seven lakh tonnes of
wheat has so far been allocated to the State Government of Rajasthan
for the current drought (2002-03) under the Special Component
of Sampoorna Gramin Rozgar Yojana. This does not include the normal
allocations of foodgrains to the State Government, under TPDS
and other Welfare Schemes.
In addition, two lakh tonnes of foodgrains were distributed in
32 districts of the state under the special component of SGRY.
As on October 31, 2002, a total stock to the tune of 8.31 lakh
tonnes of foodgrains was available with FCI in the State of Rajasthan.
This information was given in the Lok Sabha today by Minister
of State for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Shri
V. Sreenivasa Prasad in reply to a question of Shri Girdhari Lal
Bhargava.
