PRESIDENT'S GREETINGS ON THE EVE OF HOLY RAMZAN
The President Dr.
A.P.J. Abdul Kalam sends his greetings and best wishes to fellow
countrymen for the holy month of Ramzan which is being observed
now. The month of Ramzan has special significance as Quran Sharief
was bestowed as guidance to humanity during this period. During
this month fasting with prayers is observed, Namaz-e-Taraveeh
(special prayers) are held and charity is done. The President
is hopeful that this holy month will lead to peace, prosperity
and harmony in the country and unity of minds of our people.
It has been decided
that instead of Iftar Party at Rashtrapati Bhavan this year the
money will be used for the welfare of inmates of orphanages, so
that poor and needy are helped during this holymonth.
