STEEL STALL IN
IIFT-2002
The stall put up
by the Ministry of Steel in the IIFT-2002 attracted a large number
of visitors, businessmen and entrepreneurs. Organized by the Joint
Plant Committee, exhibits in the stall conveyed the message of
increasing use of steel in urban and rural areas.
Steel Authority of
India Ltd. (SAIL), Tata Iron and Steel Company (TISCO), JINDALS,
the Institute of Steel Development and Growth (INSDAG), National
Institute of Secondary Steel Technology (NISST) and voluntary
organizations like Society for Rural Industrialization (SRI) participated
in the exhibition.
The displays on use
of steel in rural construction include, poultry sheds, roof for
housing and grain storage bins. The cycle trolley used as a village
transport reflects the use of steel sheets. LPG Gas cylinder,
auto gas tank and the public utility dustbin made out of stainless
steel attracted the visitors. The stainless steel floor tiles
and other engineering stainless steel items attracted the attention
of the businessmen.
In keeping with theme
of the fair "Services Export & Tourism", SAIL displayed
a lot of banners conveying their new services. JPC put up their
publications like Monthly Bulletin on Iron and Steel, survey reports
in respect of sponge iron industry, pig iron industry, induction
furnace units, re-rolling units and performance review of 2000-2001.
INSDAG’s model on the innovative use of steel in construction
and its books in structural designing and engineering attracted
the entrepreneurs.
