RELEASES TEMA DIRECTORY 2002
The Minister of State
for Communications and Information Technology, Smt. Sumitra Mahajan
released the Telecom Equipment Manufacturers Association (TEMA)’s
Member Directory 2002 at a function here today. The Directory
contains full information on the National Telecom Scenario as
well as the Telecom Equipment Manufacturing Sector. It is an authentic
source for the entire Indian Telecom Industry including topics
like an Overview on Indian Telecommunication, NTP ’99, Highlights
of Foreign Investment Policy, Telecom Manufacturing Sector, Telecom
Services Sector, Telecom Software Sector, Telecom Exports, Department
of Telecommunications, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, Mahanagar
Telephone Nigam Limited, Telecom Regulatory Authority of India,
Videsh Sanchar Nigam Limited, Centre for Development of Telematics,
Telecom Consultants India Limited, Current Duty Structure apart
from TEMA Member profile and company product matrix. The directory
is a resource book which is extensively used by Indian Missions
abroad and foreign missions in India, Telecom Associations abroad
for possible tie-ups in this sector. The Chairman, Telecom Commission,
Shri Vinod Vaish , Shri D.P.S. Seth, Member(S), Telecom Commission,
Shri Narinder Sharma, CMD, MTNL and Shri N.K. Goyal, President,
TEMA and other senior officials were present on the occasion.
A TEMA delegation
also met the Minister and sought immediate intervention on some
of the pressing procurement related issues pending with BSNL,
MTNL and also requested the Minister to form a high powered committee
to sort out all the important issues raised raised by TEMA. Smt.
Sumitra Mahajan immediately directed the Secretary, Department
of Telecom to constitute a committee to look into the grievances
of TEMA.
