SWAMY ADMINISTERS THE
NATIONAL INTEGRATION PLEDGE
The Union Minister
of State for Home Affairs, Shri I.D. Swamy, administered the National
Integration Pledge to the officers and staff of the Home Ministry,
here today. The Pledge reads as follows:
"I solemnly
pledge to work with dedication to preserve and strengthen the
freedom and integrity of the Nation. I further affirm that I shall
never resort to violence and that I will continue to endeavour
towards settlement of all differences and disputes relating to
religion, language, region or other political or economic grievances
by peaceful and constitutional means."
The National Integration
Week begins from today and will be observed till 25th
November all over the country. During the week various programmes
are being organized on National Integration, Welfare of minorities,
linguistic harmony, cultural unity, conservation and the like
by States and Union Territories.
