RAJYA SABHA

The Government has constituted a Committee under the Chairmanship of former Union Labour Secretary Shri S. Gopalan to study the feasibility aspects of the implementation of the Housing Scheme announced recently for the subscribers of the Employees Provident Fund. Stating this in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha today, the Minister of State for Labour Shri Ashok Pradhan said the Committee consists of representatives of the employers, employees and Employees Provident Fund Organisation. He said that efforts are being made to launch the scheme at the earliest but no precise time-frame is possible. Shri Pradhan said the Central Board of Trustees of the Employees Provident Fund at its meeting last month approved in principle the launching of the Housing Scheme.
