TO EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS UNDER MPLADS

A provision to provide
computers to educational institutions has been made in the Members
of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS).
As per the guidelines,
computers can be installed under the scheme only in Government
and Government-aided educational institutions. The guidelines
allow purchase of initial software, computer furniture and training
of two existing teachers along with purchase of computer hardware.
The implementing agency for works including the installation of
computers is to be decided by the District head concerned.
This information
was given in Lok Sabha today by the Minister of State for Statistics
and Programme Implementation Shri Vijay Goel in the written reply
to a question by Smt Kanti Singh.
