The Prime Minister, Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee has expressed grief over the sad demise of the noted litterateur and academician, Dr. K. M. George.

Recalling Dr. George’s sterling contribution to the world of literature, Shri Vajpayee said that Dr. George worked tirelessly for bringing various streams and traditions of Indian literature together through his empirical work in the fields of linguistics, literary history, criticism and comparative literature. His was a significant presence in the literary arena who has left a lasting legacy in his chosen field.
