BEML PRESENTS DIVIDEND CHEQUE WORTH RS 2.7 CRORE

Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML), a PSU under the Ministry of Defence, presented a cheque worth Rs 2.7 crore for the year 2001-02 here today. The cheque was presented to the Defence Minister Shri George Fernandes by Chairman and Managing Director, BEML, Dr. K Aprameyan in the presence of Shri NS Sisodia, Secretary, Defence Production & Supplies.

BEML ended the year 2001-02 with a turnover of Rs 1,424 crore with the PBT (profit before tax) standing at Rs 13.01 crore. In comparison, the turnover for the year 2000-01 was Rs 1,347 crore with the PBT standing at 10.65 crore.

A vanguard in earth moving, construction and manufacture of defence equipment, BEML has been consistently declaring dividends every year.
