VSP APRIL TURNOVER RS.268 CRORE

Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) of the Rastriya Ispat Nigam Ltd. (RINL) a public sector undertaking of the Steel Ministry has made a very good start by achieving best sales turnover of Rs.268 crore in the first month of the current financial year. This includes Rs.233 crore in the domestic market and Rs.35 crore in the export market. The plant achieved rated capacities in all production areas and a record turnover of Rs.4077 crore in 2001-02 fiscal.

During the month VSP has produced 2,91,014 tonnes of hot metal, 2,50,906 tonnes of liquid steel and 1,96,931 tonnes of saleable steel. It achieved a Lining Life of 2039 Heats from Converter-B which is the highest achieved for any Converter since inception.
