FREE SALE
SUGAR QUOTA FOR JULY RELEASED
The Government
has released 9.5 lakh tonnes of sugar as the quota of indigenous
free sale for the month of July, 2002. With the levy quota of
2.16 lakh tonnes for the said month, the total availability of
sugar will be 11.66 lakh tonnes.
The free sale
quotas are meant only for internal consumption and with enough
stocks of sugar in hand, Government would not hesitate in releasing
further substantial quantities additionally in case of requirement
so dictates.
