& D TO BE CONSULTANTS TO CHATTISGARH IN PROCUREMENT MANAGEMENT
MOU WITH CHATTISGARH SIDC SIGNED
Chattisgarh
State Industrial Development Corporation (CSIDC) has signed a
Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Directorate General of
Supplies & Disposals (DGS &D) to avail of rich and varied
experience of DGS &D in procurement management and quality
assurance.
The MOU
was signed by Dr. P. Raghavan, Managing Director, CSIDC &
Principal Secretary (Industry), Government of Chattisgarh and
Shri N. Shanker, Additional Director General, DGS&D, in the
presence of Chattisgarh State Minister for Commerce & Industries,
Shri Mahendra Karma.
DGS &D
is a premium organisation of Government of India with 50 years
of experience in procurement and inspection. DGS &D has handled
varied procurement for Central and State Governments and against
projects financed by World Bank, Asian Development Bank etc. Rate
Contracts concluded by the DGS & D are extensively used by
different Central Government Departments/Organisations and are
taken as benchmark by State Government Departments/Public Sector
Undertakings. CSIDC is the nodal agency of Government of Chattisgarh
for procurement of variety of goods to cater to needs of the State
Districts.
According
to MOU, the DGS &D will render consultancy services to CSIDC
in the areas of procurement activities including bidding strategy,
formulation of bidding documents, vendor assessment, inspection
of goods, cargo clearance at ports and access to valuable databank.
DGS &
D is in the process of negotiating with other agencies also.
