As per the information obtained from Ministry of Finance, the funds collected from Road Cess from levy on petrol and diesel during the last three years are as under :-

Cess being levied on petrol and diesel is credited to the Central Road Fund as per the provisions of the Central Road Fund Act, 2000.

Central Road Fund is being used for Rural roads, National Highways, State roads, Road under/over bridges and safety works at railway level corssings.

This information was given by the Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Road Transport and Highways, Major General (Retd.) B.C. Khanduri in reply to a question of Prof. Ummareddy Venkateswarlu in Lok Sabha today.
