AN ADVISORY COMMITTEE
ON NGOs CONSTITUTED WITH SHRI
S. SATYAM , IAS (Retd.) AS CHAIRMAN
Ministry of Social Justice
& Empowerment has constituted an Advisory Committee on issues
relating to NGOs, with Shri S. Satyam, IAS (Retd.), as its Chairman.
The tenure of the Committee will be six months from the date of
its notification. Its terms of reference are as follows:-
- To advise on framing of revised guidelines for assisting non-governmental
organisations/voluntary organizations.
- To suggest ways and means to expedite the process of release
of grants.
- To suggest more efficacious processes for inspection and monitoring
of NGOs and to review and improve procedures, formats for the
monitoring mechanism and inspection system for the NGOs.
- Any other steps required for a smoother NGOs – Ministry interface.
The Committee will submit its report within six months.
