GOVERNMENT’S CONTROL OVER PRICES
OF MARUTI CARS
Automobile industry is a delicensed industry
and the manufacturers including Maruti Udyog Limited (MUL) are
free to fix the price of their products based on commercial considerations
and market forces which act as a mechanism to protect the interest
of consumer.
This information was given in the Rajya Sabha
today by Dr. Vallabhbhai Kathiria, Minister of State for Heavy
Industries and Public Enterprises in a written reply to a question
by Shri Rajnath Singh ‘Surya’.
