HELP OPEN MORE SCHOOLS IN BACKWARD AREAS, DR. JOSHI TO INDUSTRY

The Minister for Human Resource Development and Science and Technology Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi has urged the industry, private sector and NGOs to help open more schools in backward and semi-urban areas. Without their participation, it will be difficult to achieve the goal of education for all, said Dr. Joshi while inaugurating a college of engineering and technology at Greater Noida, near Delhi today. He regretted that the private sector and individuals are only interested in opening more and more schools in the urban areas with profit as the main motive. Any step/measure taken by either the public sector or the private sector should lead to societal benefit.

Speaking at a function yesterday to mark the Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan having become a deemed university, Dr. Joshi urged the institution to ensure that all its 10 branches become centres of excellence in various disciplines with Sanskrit as the medium. He reiterated the government’s commitment to popularise Sanskrit saying that it is our ancient language which can throw light on various things, now being revealed by modern science.
