No grant-in-aid has
been released by the Government of India to Tata Power and BSES.
However, under the Accelerated Power Development and Reforms Programme
(APDRP) projects for the State of Delhi costing Rs. 946.46 crore
have been sanctioned. These projects have to be implemented by
BSES (Delhi) and Tata Power (NDPL).
The projects include
various schemes for technological upgradation of the power sector
covering installation of SCADA/DMS, construction of new 33 KV
sub-stations, R&M of Sub-station equipments and transmission
lines, installation of capacitor banks, consumer indexing, etc.
No fund has been
released so far to these companies. The APDRP fund shall be released
to the Government of NCT, Delhi after execution of Memorandum
of Agreement by the Government of National Capital Territory of
Delhi (NCTD) with the Ministry of Power.
The benefits of these
projects shall be monitored by Government of Delhi and Delhi Electricity
Regulatory Commission (DERC) and the benefits accrued from these
projects shall be passed on to the consumers through the Regulatory
mechanism.
