A proposal for grant
of financial assistance has been received by Power Finance Corporation
(PFC) from M/s. Grid Corporation of Orissa (GRIDCO) to support
payment for power purchase related to reform of Orissa Power Sector.
PFC has sought details/clarifications from GRIDCO, which are still
awaited. PFC has, however, sanctioned a short-term loan of Rs.
200 crore to GRIDCO for power purchase, the loans documents for
which are yet to be executed by GRIDCO.
This information
was given by Smt. Jayawanti Mehta, Minister of State for Power
in a written reply to a question by Shri Man Mohan Samal and Shri
B.J. Panda in Rajya Sabha today.
