Visakhapatnam Steel
Plant produced more than 1.95 million tonnes of saleable steel
during April-November 2002, nine per cent more than the target
of 1.78 million tonnes. It produced 2.46 lakh tonnes of saleable
steel during November 2002, against a target of 2.33 lakh tonnes
showing an increase of 5 per cent.
The Plant produced
3.68 lakh tonnes of pig iron for sale during April-November 2002,
against a target of 3.18 lakh tonnes. The November 2002 production
of pig iron was 59,000 tonnes against a target of 38,000 tonnes,
showing an increase of 57 per cent.
