SHRI VIKRAM VERMA TAKES OVER
AS THE NEW MINISTER FOR YOUTH AFFAIRS AND SPORTS
The New Minister for Youth Affairs & Sports
Shri Vikram Verma has said that incentives and motivation to players
and improvement of infrastructure will be his priority areas to
achieve new heights in sports and games in the future. Talking
to media persons after taking over the charge, Shri Verma said
he would like to focus on the needs of players and will initiate
dialogue with coaches and federations.
Shri Verma said our success at the Manchester
Commonwealth Games has proved that the country has a lot of potential
winners and our effort would be to inspire them. In a rare gesture,
the Coal and Minister Minister Sushree Uma Bharti who was earlier
holding the charge of Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports came
to meet Shri Verma and congratulated him on taking over the new
assignment.
Born in a humble farming family in Dhar district
in Madhya Pradesh in 1944, Shri Verma holds a Law degree.
