SHRI GEETE ASSUMES CHARGE OF POWER MINISTRY

Shri Anant Gangaram Geete has said that his Ministry will carry on the Reforms Process started earlier. Shri Geete was talking to mediapersons after assuming charge of the Power Ministry here today. He said that continued efforts will be made to reduce Transmission and Distribution losses, which is a major drain on the Power Resources.

Shri Geete said that Government will accord top priority to restart generation from the Dabhol power Project in Maharashtra. He said meetings in this regard have been held with the State Government and other concerned organizations.

Earlier, Shri Geete met senior officers of the Ministry. The Secretary. Shri R.V.Shahi apprised the Minister about the Ministry’s activities. Smt. Jayawanti Mehta, Minister of State was also present during the meeting.
