NEWSPAPERS ANNUAL STATEMENT ON FINANCIAL YEAR BASIS

The newspapers will now submit their annual statements to the Registrar of Newspapers for India on the basis of financial year instead of calendar year. Amendment to this effect has been recently notified by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. As a result of this amendment the next Annual Statements to be submitted will cover the period from 1st April 2002 to 31st March 2003.

This amendment has been effected in view of the demand made by newspapers to avoid preparation of two annual statements, one for RNI and other for other authorities.

Statements showing number of days of publication and circulation of newspaper, prescribed in Form-II has also been accordingly amended. These statement will now cover the period from April to March next year.
