FAMILY COURTS IN MADHYA PRADESH
The Centre will be
releasing Rs. 1.05 crore to Madhya Pradesh for setting up of Family
Courts in the current financial year 2002-2003. Of this, Rs. 70
lakh will be released from plan side and Rs. 35 lakh from non-plan
side.
The Government
of Madhya Pradesh has demanded Rs. 179.83 lakhs for recurring
expenditure on Family Courts in the current financial year. Steps
are being taken by the Government of Madhya Pradesh to finalize
construction of seven Family Court buildings at the seven Divisional
Headquarters of the State including at Jabalpur.
The Centre has
urged the States to set up one Family Court in each district to
adjudicate marital and other family discords amicably to the satisfaction
of all members of the family under the Family Courts Act, 1984.
At present, 96
family courts are functioning all over the country.
