CONSTRUCTION AND MAINTENANCE OF NATIONAL HIGHWAYS
RAJYA SABHA
There are 176 No. of National
Highways, aggregating to a total length of 58112 km. in the country.
Provision of Rs.5760.5 crore
for development and of Rs.801 crore for maintenance of National
Highways has been made during 2002-03.
The works on National Highways
are being carried out through the following agencies :-
- State Governments
- Border Roads Organisation
- National Highways Authority of India
