ACTION ON REPORT OF CONSTITUTION REVIEW COMMISSION

Action on the recommendations
made by the National Commission to Review the Constitution lies
with the Ministries/Department of the Government of India, which
are administratively concerned with the subject matter of the
recommendations. The concerned Ministries/Departments have been
requested to examine the recommendations. The examination of the
recommendations, which is a time consuming process, has been initiated
and these require detailed examination before the decision regarding
their implementation can be taken.
As regards non-Indian
born citizens, the Commission has not made any specific recommendation
but has suggested that the issue should be examined in-depth through
a political process after a national dialogue.

was given by the Union Minister of Law and Justice Shri K. Jana
Krishnamurthi in a written reply to a question from S/Shri Thawar
Chand Gehlot and Danve Raosaheb Patil in the Lok Sabha today.
