INSTALLED CAPACITY OF CEMENT CORPORATION

The total installed capacity of Cement Corporation of India Limited (CCI) is 38.34 lakh MT.

The year-wise cement production for the last three years is:-

YEAR	PRODUCTION
1999-2000	6.56 lakh MT
2000-2001	2.79 lakh MT
2001-2002	6.08 lakh MT

One of the CCI’s plants, Tandur in Andhra Pradesh, which was shut down in April, 2000, was re-commissioned in May, 2001 on trial basis and regular production started in September/October, 2001.

This information was given in Rajya Sabha today by Dr. Vallabhbhai Kathiria, Minister of State for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises in a written reply to a question by Shrimati Vanga Geetha.
