COMMEMORATIVE BOOK ON THE FIRST MARSHAL OF THE IAF
The Defence
Minister, Shri George Fernandes, today released a commemorative
book on the life and achievements of the first Marshal of the
IAF, Marshal Arjan Singh at Air HQrs. The book, titled "Marshal
of the Sky - Marshal of the IAF, Arjan Singh, DFC " brought out
by Air HQ, gives a bird's eye view of the distinguished career
of Marshal Arjan Singh during his years with the IAF.
The release
of the book today, had the added significance of being the 83rd
birthday of the Marshal. Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal
S Krishnaswamy, retired Air Chiefs and all AOCs-in-C and PSOs
were present at the function organised at the Air HQ.
Speaking
on the occasion, the defence minister said that one of the authors
who has contributed an article in the book has very rightly brought
out that Marshal Arjan Singh has become more handsome with every
passing year. "All of us, who start fading with passing years,
must ask the Marshal his secret," he said.
The
defence minister also suggested that outstanding achievements
of the Marshal demanded a full sized biography.
