November 12, 1949 - A22B.The Hon’ble Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Acting Prime Minister of India, addressed the first meeting of the Standing Committee of the Central Advisory Council of Industries held in New Delhi on November 12, 1949. The meeting was attended by some of the members of the Central Cabinet, officials of I & S Ministry and some of the prominent industrialists of the country. Photo shows the Hon’ble Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel addressing the meeting. Seated at his right are the Hon’ble Dr. John Mathai, Finance Minister; the Hon’ble Shri Jagjivan Ram, Labour Minister; the Hon’ble Shri K. C. Neogy, Commerce Minister and others. The Hon’ble Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Deputy Prime Minister of India, in a broadcast message to the Nation, appealed to every section of the people, particularly the industrialists and the labour, to co-operate with the Government in every possible way and ‘play the game in a spirit of national service” in order to help the Country to ride over the present economic crisis. The Hon’ble Sardar Patel arrives at the New Delhi station of the A. I. R. on November 14, 1949, to broadcast a message to the Nation. Walking along with him at his left are Maharaj Nagendra Singh, Deputy Secretary, Ministry of I & B and Mr. N. A. S. Lakshmanan, Director-General, A. I. R.

November 18, 1949 - A22B. To meet Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Prime Minister of India, Sheikh Mohd. Abdullah, held a reception at the Kashmir Government Arts Emporium in New Delhi.The Prime Minister and other guests including Sardar Patel, Deputy Prime Minister of India; Dr. Rajendra Prasad, President of the Constituent Assembly; Central Government Ministers and Heads of the various Diplomatic Missions, went round the Emporium before the reception and inspected Kashmir fine arts and handicraft articles which are exhibited there for sale. Sheikh Abdullah is seen with Sardar Patel inside the Emporium.
