MAKE SCHEMES FOR
SCOUTING AND GUIDING: VERMA
The Union Minister
for Youth Affairs & Sports, Shri Vikram Verma said here today,
that schemes should be made by Bharat Scouts & Guides (BS&G)
to involve private schools for the growth of Scouting & Guiding
Movement. Associating the management of these schools may be very
useful in organising its various activities and conducting programmes.
Shri Verma was talking with Shri L.M. Jain, National Commissioner
of BS&G on the occasion of foundation day of the BS&G
today. 7th November is also commemorated as `Flag Day’,
which started from the 50th year of its completion.
Shri Jain presented a scarf & emblem of BS&G to the Minister.
The President
and Vice President of India are the Chief patron and patron of
BS&G respectively. BS&G, with about 35 lakhs members,
stand third in Guiding and fourth in Scouting in the world.
The BS&G
is a voluntary organisation getting financial assistance from
the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports for various activities.
It is devoted to selfless service to the country. Also, as a non-formal
education movement, it makes the scouts & guides self reliant,
resourceful, discover their talent and ever helpful toward others.
