LT GEN A NATARAJAN TAKES OVER AS ADJUTANT GENERAL
Lt Gen A Natarajan, took over as
Adjutant General at Army Headquarters today. An alumni of King
George School (now Military School) Bangalore, Lt Gen A Natarajan
was commissioned in the Regiment of Artillery in the year 1963
and participated in the 1965 Indo-Pak war. He is a highly experienced
aviator and has been an Air Observation Post (Air Op) Pilot -
initially on fixed wing aircraft and thereafter helicopters. During
the 1971 Indo-Pak war he operated as an Air Op pilot in the famous
Longewala sector of Rajasthan. With rich command, Staff and Instructional
experiences, the General Officer commanded a Field Regiment and
later on promotion to the rank of Brigadier an Independent Artillery
Brigade. He has also been Director of Operations Branch at Army
Aviation Directorate, MA to VCOAS and instructor at School of
Artillery DEOLALI and National Defence Academy Khadakwasla Pune.
Lt Gen A Natarajan has been the Major General-in-Charge of Administration
at Southern Command. He was also Additional Director General of
Army Aviation at Army HQs. He had also held the coveted appointment
of Chairman-cum-Managing Director Pawan Hans Helicopter Ltd, a
Govt. of India Enterprise. He is also the Colonel Commandant of
Artillery. Before taking over as Adjutant General he was Director
General Discipline, Ceremonials and Welfare (DCW) at Army Headquarters.
Lt Gen is highly decorated officer having been awarded Ati Vishisht
Seva Medal and Vishisht Seva Medal.
