ATTESTATION PARADE FOR RAJ RIF RECRUITS
Three
hundred and forty two recruits, undergoing training at the RAJPUTANA
RIFLES REGIMENTAL Centre Delhi Cantt became Infantry soldiers
after the ATTESTATION PARADE, held at the Raj Rif Centre this
morning. The Attestation Parade was reviewed by Lt General Raj
Kadyan, Deputy Chief of Army Staff (Training & Coordination),
who is also the Colonel of the Rajputana Rifles.
Medals
for outstanding achievements in training and Sports were also
awarded to the young "Riflemen" by the Chief Guest.
The Parade culminated with laying of wreath by the Colonel of
Regiment at the Memorial. After the attestation Parade these young
soldiers left for their respective battalions most of them deployed
in Jammu & Kashmir and Op Prakram.
Later
addressing the officers, JCOs and other ranks of the Regiment,
General Raj Kadyan called upon each one present to keep the traditions
of the Regiment high by following the traditions of valour and
sacrifice. He handed over the baton of the "Colonel of Regiment"
to Maj Gen Rakesh Dass, AVSM, SM, VSM, who has taken over as Colonel
of Regiment from Lt Gen Kadyan as he retires today after putting
in distinguished service of about four decades in uniform.
