VISL BAGS VISHWAKARMA RASHTRIYA PURASKAR-2002

Shri T. Padmanabhachary of Electrical Maintenance wing of Visvesvarya Iron and Steel Plant (VISL) steel making shop has bagged prestigious National Award "Vishwakarma Rashtriya Puraskar-2002". The plant of the Steel Authority of India Ltd. (SAIL) is situated at Bhadravati in Shimago District of Karnataka.

The above award has been instituted by the Ministry of Labour, Government of India for recognising services/contributions by a worker or a group of workers of public sector undertakings at national level for improving productivity, safety, health and environment.

Shri Padmanabhachary is an innovative and highly skilled employee who has solved complicated compressed air distribution problem. His innovative idea has avoided frequent trouble in circuit breakers of SMS which in turn has helped the company to make significant savings.
