FAILURE OF TRACK BLAMED
FOR DERAILMENT OF JAN SHATABDI EXPRESS
Preliminary report
of a statutory inquiry by the Commissioner of Railway Safety,
Northern Circle, Shri G.P. Garg into the derailment of 2056 Dn.
Dehradun-New Delhi Jan Shatabdi Express between Deoband and Rohana
Kalan stations, on Saharanpur-Meerut City section of Northern
Railway, on September 6, 2003, has revealed that the accident
was caused due to failure of track.
As a result of
the accident, one person died, three received grievous injuries
and one sustained simple injuries.
The preliminary
report has been forwarded to the Government for consideration.
