The President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam has congratulated Anju George on her bronze winning effort at the International Amateur Athletic Federation’s World Athletics Championships in Paris.

In his congratulatory message sent through the Indian Embassy in Paris, the President has said, "Your achievement, I am sure is not only the fulfilment of a personal dream, but will also encourage many more of our athletes to dream of similar feats.

I am happy that your hard work and perseverance has borne fruits. May this be just the first of many more laurels for you and for the country".
