CENTRE PROVIDES RS. 35.65 CRORE
UNDER ACCELERATED URBAN WATER SUPPLY PROJECT SCHEME DURING AUGUST,
2003
Centre has provided
an amount of Rs. 35.65 crore to the State Governments/Local Bodies
under Accelerated Urban Water Supply Project Scheme (AUWSP) during
the month of August, 2003. AUWSP is a Centrally sponsored scheme
initiated with the objective of solving the drinking water problems
in towns having population of less than 20 thousands as per 1991
census. Cost of the scheme is borne by the Centre and the State
Governments in equal proportion. State wise details of the funds
provided during August, 2003 are given below: -
