A large number
of Goan and Kashmiri veg and non-veg cuisines are attracting
the film buffs at the ongoing the 34th International
Film Festival of India (IFFI) – 2003. Goenkarancho Kkvot (togetherness
of Goans) and Jammu & Kashmir Tourism Development Corporation
(JKTDC) have set up their food stalls for the first time here
with an encouraging response from the people visiting the IFFI
– 2003. The Goa Stall has assumed added significance since the
State has been made a permanent venue for the IFFI from next
year.
Xacuti with
Pao, Fish and Balchoo with Pao are the main non-veg items, which
are quite favourite with the visitors apart from Kokam, an appetizer
drink which is also used for preparing ‘Sole Curry’. The veg
cuisines including Bhazi Pao are also equally in demand.
Mrs. Kavita
Narayanan, in-charge of the stall says that people are eager
to know more about the Goan delicacies in view of Goa being
made a permanent venue of the IFFI. She says that the response
is good and they are trying their best to satisfy the customers
with quality food.
Similarly,
Kashmir Gustaba, Rista, Rogan Josh and Kababs are cynosure of
all eyes at the ‘Wazwan’, the food stall of JKTDC set up for
the first time. "Though the sales are not up to our expectations,
still we are hopeful to meet the targets" says the in-
charge of the stall. A subsidiary of Dilli Haat ‘Wazwan’, the
stall has also delicious veg items like the favourite Rajma
Rice and Paneer Rice. The stall of Kerala Tourism Development
Corporation is another attraction at the food festival of IFFI.
The rates are reasonable and affordable at all the stalls.
