NCC DELEGATION
RETURNS FROM BHUTAN
A fourteen Member
NCC delegation including two officers and twelve cadets visited
Bhutan from Nov 10 to Nov 16, 2003. During their stay the cadets
participated in group discussion in Central Bhutan Studies. They
also visited BBS Tower / Memorial Chorten and Zorig Chosum, Punkha
Dzong, NRTI, Folk Heritage Museum. The delegation went on hike
to Tangu and Cheri.
The delegation led
by Col PC Bundela including Lt Col T Siva Kumar, Sgt Watinaro,
Sgt Shivani Swain, Cdr Kapil Yadav, Cdt Bhuvneshwari F, Cdt Sonam
Yankela, SUO Garima Singh, Sgt MR Bhavani, Sgt Harjeet Kaur, Sgt
Jaspreet Saluka F, Cdt Vijay Kr Sharma, Cdt Arun Kr Sachdev and
Cdt Sonali Mazumdar from the states of Karnataka, Orissa, Punjab,
West Bengal, UP, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and north eastern
states.
The member of the
delegation called on DGNCC Lt Gen BK Bopanna in New Delhi today.
Lt Gen Bopanna commended the role of Cadets as young ambassadors
of India, spreading the message of international understanding.
He said visit of the Cadets will further strengthen the Indo Bhutanese
ties.
NCC has an ongoing
youth exchange programme with a number of countries including
Bhutan under which cadets from the both the countries visited
each other to participate in various activities.
