NEW VARIETY OF GROUNDNUT IDENTIFIED


One variety of groundnut, TG 37 A, has been identified for eastern and north eastern States like Jharkhand, Orissa, West Bengal and Assam for Rabi cultivation. The variety has been developed by the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Trombay. It has been found suitable for rice fallows in residual moisture conditions. The variety has shown an yield potential of 2 to 2.5 tonnes per hectare.
