IVRS AND WEBSITE INFORMATION FOR
STATE GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES OF TAMIL NADU
The Indian Audit
and Accounts Department, Office of the Accountant General (Accounts
& Entitlement), Tamil Nadu, Chennai is launching Interactive
Voice Response System (IVRS) and website information for the state
government employees of Tamil Nadu from today i.e, November 12,
2003. Government servants who are subscribers to the General Provident
Fund can now access information about their subscriptions electronically
It will help Government Servants including those who are in distant
towns and villages and also those who do not know English or who
are not computer savy.
Over the telephone
the information can be obtained 24 hours a day and seven days
a week. There are no holidays or office hour restrictions for
obtaining the information. It can be obtained from any part of
the country when the employee is travelling or on leave or even
from other countries. The subscriber has only to dial (044 24314477)
or access www.agae.tn.nic.in.
The information over the phone will be available also in Tamil.
There is also the mail box facility to subscribers to leave messages
if there is any complaint.
Subscribers can obtain
a rainbow of information on ‘closing balance’, ‘current balance’,
‘missing credits’, ‘debits’, ‘status of final withdrawal application’
etc. A hierarchy of instructions can be heard by the subscribers
to help them to move from one information to another. Security
features have also been built in to protect the privacy of information.
The website also gives users information on the rules and procedures
for Provident Fund subscription, withdrawal, pension entitlement
etc.
This is the first
system in the country where subscribers to any Provident Fund
and pensioners are so facilitated. Similar electronic enabling
systems will be put through in other states also.
