IMPLEMENTATION REPORT OF CENTRAL SECTOR PROJECTS FOR SEPTEMBER

According to the Flash Report for the month of September 2003 on central sector projects, 10 of the 278 projects have reported additional delays over the completion dates reported in the preceding month. The delays are in the range of 01 to 12 months – four in Road Transport, three in Railways, two in Petroleum and one in Power sectors. The remaining 268 projects have shown no additional delays.

The 215^th Flash Report of Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation for September 2003 carries data regarding 278 projects in the Central Sector each costing Rs. 100 crore and above while in August there were 276 projects on the monitor of the ministry. During the month, two new projects in Power Sector have been taken on monitor. Out of the 278 projects, 237 are major projects costing between Rs. 100-1000 crore, and the remaining 41 are mega projects costing more than Rs. 1000 crore.
